so much going on...

ok, so yes, it has been awhile since i have posted. this is going to be brief. i went to nyc with my momma to the architectural digest home show (unreal) then i went to paris to visit my friend emily who was doing a study abroad there (more pics to follow of both trips). now i am sitting in my room at my new apartment in rexburg and i'm feeling satisfied since my room is almost completely unpacked (yay!).

however i am about to keel over at any moment, did i mention that there was a volcano in iceland? well yes, there was. a big one. in fact it was so big that all air travel stopped in europe. thats right, nothing flying in, nothing flying out. after much stress, tears, and even a little fun we miraculously made it on a flight out tuesday to atlanta (big, traumatic, and slightly hilarious story in and of itself...but for another time). spent the night (more like 2 hours) in a hotel in atlanta (but SO happy to be in the U.S. of A.), got on a plane to slc early in the a.m. packed up my stuff for school and headed up at 2 p.m. did i mention that i did not sleep a wink on any of my flights, and had only slept those two hours in the hotel in the past 36 hours. but for some reason i was wide awake. not tired at all. till 10 p.m. last night, then i died and it has been downhill ever since. classes were interesting considering i missed the first two days and had NO CLUE what the professors were talking about (even though i had prepared and printed and read through the syllabus' beforehand...what's the point of a syllabus if it doesn't explain your class anyway?) and now here i sit.

now to the point of this post. i was just going through some of the projects for this semester and i could not be more excited. slightly overwhelmed but excited nonetheless. i feel like this is where its about to really take off. and its gonna be AWESOME. not to mention my non-interior design classes (which is only two) seem like they are going to be unreal too! english...which as you can tell i could use ha ha. but i really do love english and my teacher seems really good. the other class is a religion class...world religions to be exact and it is also going to be unreal. i am so pumped! and now back to the point again ha ha. as i was coming to these realizations about this semester it is time i get down to business and start posting my design projects. i'm gonna have to catch up and put some on from last semester but i think it is time. i'm committing myself to this despite how busy i am. i want lots of feedback, positive and constructive criticism. get excited. its gonna be fun!

oh and one last thing. i just read through this and that english class is definitely necessary. get ready nic to be editing lots of papers (my sister nicole is the english guru). and also...i just realized i am a complete nerd and LOVE GOING TO SCHOOL. maybe i'll be taking that back in a few weeks, but regardless i really do love learning!

It has been an entire year since kyle left on his mission!! i cant believe it, time is flying!! he is doing absolutely awesome and i couldn't be more proud of him or more happy!! life is good!!

First things first, this has been the absolute craziest semester EVER!! BUT...i finally am having the first "day off" since it has started!! So, i decided i'd update the old blog just a bit and let everyone know what i'm up to in sexy rexy! A few weekends ago we got to go with the design department to good ole sun valley for a design seminar with ASID. It was a super long but super fun day. my fav part was getting to see this amazing catholic church, never have i seen anything so beautiful!! (oh and i also loved the shopping, however it would have been nice to have some money for it ha ha, oh the joys of starving studentism!!)

So i know that it has been FOREVER since i have posted anything!! its been crazy the past month or so and i have so much to blog about and i finally have enough time to do it so here goes for the past crazy month of my life...

First things first, i was able to go to ITALY over the fourth of july weekend, it was UNREAL!! so amazing, and i'm actually so lucky that i ended up being able to go because i was still in school but everything worked out perfectly which tells me that it was definitely meant to be (my mom agrees). I went with my mom, my sister gabs, my aunt barbara and we met up with my cousin har who was over in prague doing a study abroad. I was able to go to Rome, Florence, and Pisa before i came home for school and everyone else headed on to Venice. Here are just a few pics of the AMAZING adventure...

I know this is so cliche...but we all had to do it!!

So i wish i could post a thousand more...this was an extreme narrowing downage ha ha. I have over 200 pics...maybe i'll blog again about it and give more detail, however now i must go into other events...

The next super exciting thing that happened is that my friend Katelyn got married!! SO CRAZY and SO EXCITING!! she was sweet enough to ask me to be her bridesmaid and i had so much fun doing the shower and being apart of her big day!! i love that girl, her wedding was beautiful and so was she, i wish i had some pics to post but instead i'll just have to share this one of the two of us...

The next big thing is bittersweet...i finished my freshman year of college!! yay!! it is so crazy to think that i'm already a fourth of the way done...super exciting...and i'm ready for this much needed break!! that is the sweet part, the bitter part however is that i had to leave the most amazing apartment of girls on the face of the earth!! seriously...my roommates were AMAZING!!! and i just want to cry to think that it might not be that way in the fall! oh well i'll just have to pray my brains out!! its crazy cuz i really dont think we have ever had an argument or disagreement once in our apartment. we all got along so great and i would actually get excited to go home to those amazing girls!! they definitely had a huge impact on me and i love them to pieces...i'm gonna miss them like crazy next semester but i am so excited for all the amazing new paths our lives are heading down!! as i told kels the other day...life is so weird!! ha ha (in a good way of course)!

Most AMAZING Surprise Ever!!

So the other day Kels and I got home and we were talking about how we love when the mail man comes even though we know we won't be getting anything and next thing we know we both have a package!! And yes, it was from our dear friend Ashlee Ann, that girl is the bomb.com!!

She sent me this pic of Patrick Dempsey and a note that began by sounding like he was expressing his love for me when all of a sudden it was like, "and yes i'm so glad you are helping with mine and ashlee's wedding plans" ha ha ha!! wow!! kels got basically the same thing only from Bob Harper from Biggest Loser. So funny!! She also included a more serious card that was the nicest thing i've ever read, and...THIS MOVIE!! it is unreal!! you just need to disregard the first pic...lets just say i'm very grateful age was on my side ha ha!! also may i just warn you that my friends and i got quite creative when we were youngins so there may be some seriously hideous pics...but hey we always say we had the most fun growing up and boy is that true!! i hope you enjoy this as much as i did (i may have teared up a few times...shhhh!!)

So i never thought i'd see the day, but yes...i have created a blog!! i dont know what has gotten into me, it's not like i have time to have a blog anyway so it probably wont be updated often, but i thought it would be fun to have one so i can show off all the cool things i get to do at school. yes, i am a nerd and i LOVE school!! it could be that i have the best major in the world, but who knows thats just my theory!! anyhow, mainly i'll be posting about projects i'm doing but i'm sure i'll throw in some other stuff here and there!! hope you enjoy!! p.s. the above pic is of me and my GORGEOUS little sister...seriously the funniest, kindest, most beautiful girl ever...she is such an example to me, i LOVE her!!
